Advanced PicoWay Technology
PicoWay delivers ultra-short picosecond pulses that are shorter than many other picosecond lasers on the market. These short pulses create a strong photoacoustic effect, targeting pigment with precision while minimising heat-based tissue interaction and reducing the risk of unwanted side effects. High peak power allows pigment to be broken down into extremely fine particles, supporting faster and more efficient clearance over a series of treatments. PicoWay also uses multiple wavelengths within a single platform, allowing us to treat a broad range of pigmentation concerns across different skin types. The system includes 1064nm, 532nm, and 730nm wavelengths. The 730nm wavelength is a newer addition to the platform and allows for enhanced targeting of specific pigmentation types, expanding treatment versatility across a wider range of skin tones, including darker and more melanin-rich skin, including Asian skin types.What does the treatment feel like?
PicoWay uses ultra-short pulses that generate almost zero heat compared to traditional laser systems. This reduces heat-based skin trauma and lowers the risk of side effects such as post inflammatory hyperpigmentation, particularly in more melanin-rich skin tones.
Most clients describe the sensation as a light snapping or prickly feeling as the laser passes over the skin. Some areas can feel slightly scratchy, similar to skin needling.
At ERAZE, treatments are performed in a staged and layered way, customised to your skin and pigment type. Because of this, different layers of pigment can feel slightly different during treatment, depending on how deep the pigment sits and how your skin responds in real time.
How long is recovery?
Most clients experience mild redness or swelling for around 24 to 72 hours. This can usually be covered with light makeup if desired.
Some clients may not experience redness at all, while others may notice it for longer. This variation is normal and not an indication of outcome or skin response quality.
Temporary darkening of pigment is also common and part of the normal process. Lack of visible darkening does not mean the treatment hasn’t worked.
You can return to normal daily activities immediately after treatment.
Can all areas of the body be treated?
We can treat most areas of the body where pigmentation is present.
The face typically responds best, followed by the neck and décolletage, then areas such as the shoulders and back. Arms and legs also respond well, however it’s important to understand that areas further from the heart generally take longer to respond.
How many treatments are required?
The number of treatments depends on the type, depth and behaviour of the pigmentation being treated.
Superficial pigmentation such as freckles or sun spots, particularly on fair skin generally show significant improvement after one treatment. Deeper spots and other pigment types may require a series of treatments for optimal results.
